Well this sucks. I have my ranger tore apart waiting on more parts. (8" chevy springs)

I was gonna order my gears while I was waiting and ran into a problem. I cant find any gears lower than 4.88 for my 14-bolt rear(10.5rg). My front dana 60 is no prob, I found 7.17's if I wanted to go that low.

I am wanting something around 5.38's. Can anyone tell me where I could find some gears? If not I'm gonna have to sell my 14-bolt in favor of a Dana 60 rear.

Only reason I need gears so low is beacuse my 2.5L dont like big tires(40"-42") And it needs to be streetable. I hunt out of this truck and play in the mud thats it, I drive it to the woods an such. My other ranger is my DD. So please help me out guys:icon_cheers:

Call around. 14 bolt gears are easy to come by. Anything below a 5.13 and the pinion gear is getting pretty small. I know Yukon has them cuz I just ordered a set 6 days ago.

Thanks guys. By the way, me and my boss have been arguing, maybe ya'll can clear it up. He has a 80's model dodge on Rockwell's with 44 gumbo mudders that he use to DD Until motor went out. So if the tires dont stick out he thinks its garbage.

Would Toyota axles be too narrow to stick under a ranger?

A toyota axle is going to about the same width as your stock ranger axles.

Sweet. Now I can rub it in his face Haha

Rear is the same and IFS hubs on a straight axle will make it the same Correct?

The toyota solid axles are 55" WMS to WMS...a ranger is around the 59-60" WMS to WMS so yes they are quite a bit narrower.

Most toyota guys even run spacers to get rid of the tire rub they cause.
