Kind of. "Easily" is not the word I would use for any engine swap.
The early engines (83-85?) were carbureted, and used the low-pressure fuel pump in the tank. When they switched to fuel injected engines, they added an in-line high-pressure booster pump.
If you wanted to put a carbureted engine in your 88, you would eliminate that booster pump and some of the plumbing related to the fuel pressure regulator, for starters.
If you want further details, you're going to have to give us more information, such as:
What engine do you have in the truck now?
What engine do you intend to install?
Why do you want to install a carbureted engine?
What do you plan to do with your truck?
Your initial question seems awfully vague and uninformed.
