Hey guys,

I want to put some decent tires on my ranger, but it has 14" wheels. I was told that there isnt much available in in 14" with a semi-aggresive tread.

How can i convert my 1989 2wd ranger (2.3L 4 banger) to 15" rims so i can put like 27" tires or something.

Thanks in advance.

Just bolt them on. If you lag the power to turn them over just change your gearing

So the bolt pattern is the same and they will fit???

I went to a tire shop and they said that a 15" rim wont fit on my '14" hub'. So i was under the impression that a conversion was needed.

However, seems stupid to me that ford would use two differant bolt patterns on the 2wd/4wd ranger!?!?.

I just took the 14" rims off my 87 2wd and put stock 15" rims off a 2003 Ranger they fit fine.

Oh wow. Ok well this saves me a LOT of BS.

I was thinking about getting some 28" tires... 215/80/15 something like that. Would i have any rubbing/bottoming out issues? My truck has tired old factory suspension.

If i need to lift it i would rather it be a suspension lift and not a body lift, Do you guys know any good websites for suspension lifts for my truck?

Thanks a LOT guys!

back when I was 2 wheel drive, I had 235 70 15's on 15x7 wheels, a little bit of rubbing on the top of the fender when I entered parking lots at speed and stuff, but that was it, I pried the fender out a little bit with a board between the fender and the tire and it helped some

My truck suspension is pretty beat.. makes noises and stuff, expecially in the front.

Subsequently the front of mky truck is lower then in that pic.

I think ill have to do some suspension work... Anybody know a good place to order from? 1-2" suspension lift or something?

Skyjacker 2" lift

SUMMIT has the lift kit you want - I put 15's on my 89 2wd and had the problem with the front wheelwells rubbing on high bumps

I had no issues switching to 15 inch rims either. This spring I'm trying 16 mustang rim....not sure if they fit or not but want to try. My 2x2 Ranger has not been modified at all.

They should fit fine. I've seen it done before.

Bigger is better!

The bolt pattern on the Ranger and most* rear wheel drive Fords are 5x 4.5" (5x114.3mm) So that translate to: 5 lugs on a 4.5" bolt circle. I bolted the 16" wheels from my '90 Lincoln Mark VII onto my '95 Ranger with no problems. You just need to check the back spacing of the wheels you want.

*short list: 93-98 Mark VIII's, 89 and up T-bird, Cougar.

Yes it is, I guess I should have been more clear with my post on what doesn't fit w/ rear wheel drive cars
