My trans tunnel looks similar to yours before I put the zf in my truck. I have to unbolt the motor and tilt it back to initially get the tranny input into the pilot. My motor is pretty far back though too
Good to know. When I compared the ZF to the auto, the ZF has a steeper drop than the auto. So I assume it should fit. I had to loosen the engine to remove the auto as well.
I got one of the T-bar mounts off. Those suckers are certainly welded on there. No surprise though.
I dropped the rusted fuel tank out. Gravity did most of the work. It was way worse than anticipated. Actually, the whole back of the truck is a bit crusty. Might have to link the rear sooner than expected. I want to get the other side cut off soon. Just got back from a Mexico vacation and bought a house. Staying busy
I would like to get this ZF in before I move in early December since my new out building doesn't have a concrete floor yet. Time (and weather) is against me. Might throw it in the attached garage for now
Not sure what I am going to do with the new place. Might even knock it down and build a whole new building next fall. It is a basic pole building built in 1986. It does have 60amp service. Its 32 wide by 24 deep x 8 tall. I want a 40 wide x 32 deep x 12+ high. Or I might just add a high bay and go from there. In this area I am allowed up to 1500 sq ft without a variance. That is plenty big for what I need.
12-31-16 will mark 2 years.
I need to at least have the drivetrain in by then! I'm such a slacker
And yes, after I sent this picture to some friends I was reminded that I forgot the starter plate. So I pulled the FW back off last night. Ordered a rear main this morning after I found out they were $6. 7.3 ones are like $80.
