The guy who had my truck originally was short, so he wanted a tall truck:icon_confused:

I have put 100k miles on it like this, with 2" of lift. The drivers side torsion bar is almost gone, its nearly fully cranked and its still hitting bumps weird on that side, and you can hear it flopping on hot days. There is no spring left.

So, I know it needs new torsion bars, but I'm not sure if I need new torsion keys as well. I have no idea what he did to make the lift in the front- I do know he said something about replacing the bars, so he likely went with the stiffest ones he could.

What I am afraid of is if he upgraded the keys too. IF I just got new "B" stock bars, will they ride at stock height even if the keys are the fancy kind?

Im afraid the dealer is the only place I can find new bars too, but oh well. I am sick of a bumpy crappy ride. I don't want every crack in the road to feel like the last hit this truck will take...

if you could get ahold of a stock key somehow you could compare yours too it to see if the indexing of the hexagon cut out that actually holds the bar is off, that would mean aftermarket lift key.

As far as the stiffness of the bars i believe it goes: F, B, 1 softest to stiffest.
I've got 1's about 1" over stock using stock keys and my brother has F's with 2" leveling keys. The two trucks sit nearly the same height (his might be a little higher) His torsion bar adjustment bolts have plenty of thread left to go either direction, up or down. So to answer your question i am pretty confident F code bars with and lift keys with the proper adjustment could produce the same result as say an Fx4 with 1 code bars and stock adjustment.

Well i have been cranking more on the drivers side and that does it... but after a few weeks it softens up again.

Fairly certain they are 1's, but for now ill just keep cranking until i run out of adjustment room.... then I'll probably just buy new bars.
