Hello,

New to the forums as far as posting, but not as a reader. I would like to take some time every now and then to chronicle this build. Progress is going to be slow but should be steady and we expect to finish this truck by late spring early summer.

We are starting with a 90 Ranger 2WD, going to completely strip it down to bare frame derust and paint..... the usual, before any modification.

This is the truck sorry old pic.

Starting to gather up four sixes and T45 transmissions

More four six blocks (anyone want a 79 pontiac 350 :icon_confused:)

Down to rolling chassis getting ready to remove the 2.9

See who says you need a big V8 to pull wheel

Cab, bed and other parts all stored out of way for now.

Motor removed....The rust on the frame was not anywhere near as bad as we anticipated. Hell all the cross members are still there. With the exception of the fact the only thing holding the cab on was 2 of 6 mounts.

Thats it for now will have more pictures hopefully every couple of days to log the progress. This truck is gonna be a monster when its done.

We will be using EFI as I for some reason love wires.

lol your one of few then, but more power to you then because a lot of people shy away from the wiring and idk why because its not complicated.

I would have no use for a crown vic wiring harness or computer not going to use an auto trans. Maybe another short block as long as its 96-98 but I think I have enough spares :D I run a small Mustang performance shop here and I have lots and lots of parts. I think I have nine or ten master engine harnesses for the 4.6 all coil pack not coil on plug version, and a whole lot of NPI heads and intakes. Speaking of which anybody have a PI intake they want to get rid of or trade for an NPI and set of NPI heads?.... Just a thought. Thanks for the info brantr will keep that in mind, I just might want to build a pursuit car to keep up with the truck. :icon_thumby:

Here is part of the front suspension.

Set of DJM lowering beams and 2 inch lower Belltech springs, hopefully they will give the lowered stance for racing and keep correct camber. I am still researching what options I have for upgrading the brakes but as of now it looks like its gonna have to be a one off custom fab job to meet the needs of this truck.

No they are for the newer performance improvement cylinder heads found on 99 and newer 4.6's. Easiest way to tell difference is the PI runners are much taller then the NPI.

Degreased and pressure washed the frame today, what a greasy mess the front end was. Also spent the whole day cleaning the shop :D actually have comfortable work space again, I think I need to have a yard sale.

Purple power in a sprayer is amazing stuff.

I found a box of used 4.6 head bolts sittin on the shelf maybe I will build myself a nice deck, all I need is some wood now.
