Hey I was wonderin if anyone could lead me in the right direction. Last night I tried to engage my 4x4 but all it would do is make a popping sound. :dunno: I was thinkin maybe the switch is bad cuz I had times when the 4x4 didnt want to dis engage. Any Ideas?

Most likely your shift motor is getting weak. It's a $75 part and pretty easy to pop it off the back of the transfer case.

Since I'm having same issues I'm thinking of swapping to the manual hubs. But one question, can they remain in the locked position so that when u NEED four wheel drive u can just push the buttons in cab without getting out of the truck and having to lock hubs?

yes you can,

however it will eventually put more wear on your front axle/T case

Sounds good. I only use the four wheel drive when it slows, so I'll look into the swap and then if I feel I'm gonna need it during bad weather I'll go ahead and lock them so if I need it I can just activate it with the in cab buttons.
