Hello everyone. Let me start off by saying I will be ordering a lift (skyjacker stage 2 6") for my ranger in the next few weeks, so this isn't one of those "I'd like a lift if I win the lottery or find one brand new in the box on craigslist for $50" threads like I tend to see a lot of that just waste peoples time. My truck is a 1992 super cab 4.0, and from what I've read since the coils are pretty soft with the heavier motor and added weight from the cab you need a spacer of around 1.5" on the front to make it sit level with the back. My question is would swapping in the 8" lift spring instead of the 6" make the truck sit pretty much level without having to use a spacer up front? I would be getting new leaf springs in the back and not blocks. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, you can use 8" coils on your Supercab 4.0L.
Something else you'll need to do in addition though (and should do anyway even with 6" coils) is address the steering linkage angle that will be present, as the drop pitman arm that the kit comes with is too short even for a 4" lift. A lot of guys simply use the larger Skyjacker pt# FA600 drop arm with the stock linkage to bring it down more inline with the axle, though other (even better) options that you might also consider include swapping the stock steering out entirely for a K-link setup or something similar, which will require some fabrication (welding, etc.).
Superlift's Superrunner steering kit works well after some modification.

Skyjacker's kit is quite excellent otherwise though, a good choice. :icon_thumby:

Thanks for the reply, that's what I was hoping to hear. I actually already have the FA600 drop pitman arm, I came across a deal on it that was to good to pass up ($45 brand new) and had heard I needed it so I picked that up awhile ago. I'm excited to get it and install it, I've been looking at and dreaming about lift's since first got the truck and I finally have the funds to get one. Thanks again for the reply, I really appreciate it.
