hey guys i got a offer for a free 302 with the tranny and tcase for free from a 98 explorer. and my a4ld in my 94 just went out so i was wondering if anyone has done this swap? i know in 98 the expo got pats and my 94 doesnt so i know that will cause complications. if the engine swap isnt doable then does anyone know if the transmission will go onto my 4.0l? im not sure what tranny it actually has though

Your transmission won't fit the V8, and the V8's transmission won't fit the V6 either.

The engine swap is possible if you have the skills, time & money!

...and it's an AWD transfer case if that bothers you.

Just from reading your sig I can tell you'll hate the AWD t-case... and you'll lose low range also as the AWD t-case is one speed only. You can swap a manual shift t-case in there though, so don't let the AWD t-case be a deterrent. I'm not sure of the t-case model number you need, but it's a real common swap with the explorer guys. Their frame rails are a bit wider than ours for swapping in a bigger case, but you shouldn't have any problem with it considering everything else that has been done to your truck.
