Almost a year ago, I noticed the A/C - Heater fan in my 94 Ranger didn't seem to blow as hard on MAX A/C as I remembered. I checked here and found a post about the resistor. It was a very easy job, but it didn't make a difference after it was installed. I figured it was just my memory, because I had moved to Florida from the central coast of California where I hadn't used my A/C on Max for awhile.

Anyway, several weeks ago, I noticed the first setting on the fan didn't seem to work at all. I still had the next three settings, so I figured I'd be OK. On Monday, I noticed the fan didn't work on the second setting.

I'm now down to just the last two settings. I'm thinking about installing a new resistor, since it's both easy and cheap. I saw a post here about a relay located behind the passenger side headlight, but couldn't find it. Anybody have an idea where it's at on a 94? I've also seen posts here about the fan selector switch. How hard is it to get to and replace?

Any help will be appreciated and if anybody knows anything else I can replace, please let me know.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Where is this resistor located? Any pics? Or the link to the thread you referred to.

By the way, the article mentioned the resistor being a dealer-only item....I was able to pick one up at Advance Auto for $18.99 & tax.
