sometimes my throttle linkage will catch on some part of the bottom of my air cleaner assy. it might be that the aftermarket cruise control bracket might be part of the problem, idk. so i'm looking for a riser or a whole new air cleaner assy. to fix the problem.
ok, near as i can measure, the stock carb has a 5 1/4 inch dia. base. all the new aftermarket air cleaners are 5 1/8 inches dia. consequently, none of them will fit. even tried using one of the adapter sets from mr. gasket and it is only 5 1/8 inch also. call to Summit Racing got me nowhere. so the question...
what are others using for aftermarket air cleaners? and where can i order one?

I had a problem similiar once... I took the offending air cleaner off and gave it a good WHACK with my bfh! The dent made everything work fine..

Ive had the same problem and fixed it this same way. Its on the bottom so nobody will see it but may effect how the air filter sits in the housing but no biggy, trial and error will solve that. :icon_thumby:

Saw a truck that have this samething done to it valve covers to get something to fit on the intake, how the rockers werent making contact im not sure though.:shok:
