On my 04 there is a little module above the rearview mirror on the windshield that has antenna lookin things coming out each end of it. Anyone have any idea what it might be? Just curious.

My credo
Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
It sounds aftermarket; typically, like a remote starter unit, an alarm or keyless entry system. Look up behind the driver's side dash for any non-stock looking wiring or modules.

It's a tracking unit so the government knows where you are.

Seriously, I'm guessing either it's the receiver for a remote starter or a cell phone repeater antenna with the outside half missing. I put one of those on the wife's car.

xm antennas are usually small black boxes that get stuck to the roof.

+1 to an aftermarket remote start or alarm.
