I have to replace the drivers side head on my 88 Ranger and I want to find two new "World Products" 2.9 heads. I know World stopped selling there 2.9 heads and that there almost impossible to find new. I'm pretty sure that seance they stopped selling them that also means they stopped making them, right? I've tried Summit and Jegs but they dont carry them anymore, and I've even looked on e bay with no luck. Does anybody know where I can find a set of new World products 2.9 heads? Or maybe even a place that is selling a set of good used world heads?

I don't. Best bet to find them on would be on here. I would gamble on some of the guys selling on ebay. Just do your homework. From time to time, People on here ask about a certain manufacturer of these heads and people with experience with them usually answer.

Thanks jhammell85, Yea , I do remember seeing some new and used ones on e bay not to long ago (1-2 years ago). It seamed like it wasn't that hard to find a new set. I tried looking in the for sale section here and a couple other forums as well. But its like you said I just got to do some more homework, and probably wouldn't hurt to have a little patience.

About 18 months ago World blew out their inventory of 2.9 heads, with no intent to cast more Over the course of about 8 weeks a buddy of mine and I (who are trying to build competitive SCCA GT2 engines) saw the last 125 heads get sold on ebay. I was 1 short of what i wanted so found one about 14 months ago on Amazon for $250, vs. the $100 or so World wanted. Apparently someone in Colorado bought the last 75 or so heads,I've been trying to find out who.

World got out of the 2.9 replacement market because they couldn't compete price-wise with Chindian heads.

When I was 15 I took metal shop. Maybe you could make your own heads! Or, why not put a different engine in there?

Hey... If I had access to a milling machine...... I could do a set of heads no problem.

The question here is,,,, do I have that much time to do them ?? no way !

Some better, some worse. Don't know, not investigated. They're not legal for the class of road racing I'm building the motor for
