Okay, I admit that tobacco smoke is offensive and harmful to some folks, and I am glad they no longer have to suffer exposure caused by inconsiderate asses in public places, but it has gone way too far in some cases. There are companies today that do not permit employees to smoke on their property. Even inside their own vehicles, and others who will not even hire someone who admits that they smoke. As for bars, taverns and coffeehouses...They should have designated smoking sections. It's like chocolate and peanut butter!!! On another note, as for government interference with private life and choices in the name of safety and security, I very much liked America without seat-belts, bike helmets, kids still in car seats at age 5, flirting without a sexual harassment suit being brought up, kids eating real food in school and riding in the back of a pickup truck. Don't even get me started on the cameras everywhere watching/tracking us/ sending us traffic tickets. How about communication privacy? GPS? I would gladly give up all of the so called security and convenience of the digital/information age to go back to "the good old days". I had a library card, could make a phone call, write letters, use a map and go visit someone to talk face to face. I never wore a seat-belt or bike helmet either, and if the government and law enforcement disappeared one day; it would have been years before anybody even noticed they were gone. What a totally screwed up place we let our country turn into.
