Did a coolant flush on the 3.0 about a week ago. Went out today to check the level and found fuel in the coolant overflow tank. I am guessing it is probably a head problem, but only thing I have ever seen with head gasket problems is coolant mixing in the oil. From others I've talked to, I've been given a wide array of possibilities:
1. Cracked head.
2. Blown head gasket.
3. Bad fuel pressure regulator
4. Fuel pump putting out too much pressure.
5. Not possible for fuel to mix with coolant.

The truck runs fine going down the road. It's not blowing any smoke out the tailpipe. At idle she stays running, the RPM's hold steady, but feels like a little miss or sputter in the engine. Starting when cold, she starts up with no problems. When engine is warm she acts like she has a dead battery when trying to start. Have to hold the accelorator to the floor to get her to start. No problems with her overheating. No CEL's. Belt squeeks at idle, but stops while driving. Belts good and tight.

Recent work:
previous owner, top end job on motor. Within last 10,000 miles.
New plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
Timing checked and is 10 degrees BTDC.
New fuel filter last week.
Coolant flush last week.
New thermostat and gasket at time of coolant flush.
New muffler and tailpipe last week.
All vacuum lines checked. No leaks.
New timing chain.
New water pump.
New IAC.

Can anybody help me with this bad mixture? :icon_confused:

Is there a way to test it? Can't afford to get nickel and dimed by this thing right now. Have the 2.9 torn apart and need this one for work. Looked in the archives, but didn't see anything with the word search for fuel mixing in coolant anywhere.

I read that article earlier today. Going to try removing the vacuum line to it tomorrow. From what I read, it will either have raw fuel in it or while running, it will let fuel run out of it. Didn't see anything in his thread that said he tried it or not.

Put new FPR on today and flushed coolant system again. Guess only time will tell if that was the problem or not. Have to keep an eye on my coolant to see.

Looks like the FPR was the culprit. Still no fuel in coolant since changing it and the truck seems to be idling better.

Thanks to those that helped!
