I (and a co-worker) just replaced the front rotors, pads and wheel bearings in the front and the brake drums only in the rear of my '02 3.0 V6 Ranger Super Cab. When we first did it I felt a horrible roughness up front when stopping. We brought it back in and loosened up the bearings a little. I thought that had cured the problem but on further driving I still feel that roughness when stopping, not as bad, but still there. It almost feels like there might be a slight drag on the front wheels. Another thing that just started too to coincide with this is it's tripping the ABS light. It seems like the ABS light clears itself because when you first start the truck it's not on but once you start driving...it trips it. Do you think these wheel bearings are still to tight or not packed well enough?? Do you think that could be causing a drag on the front wheels and that in turn is tripping the ABS?? Could it be the brake job?? Or do you think something else completely??
