I just purchased a '99 ranger xlt 4x4.The previous owner slid into a ditch and snapped the rear shaft at the brake drum, assuming it's a 28 spline shaft can I pull a shaft from any ranger 8.8 rear? I also have new drums and shoes that I intended to install on my '97, will they fit the '99 if they are the same diameter. The 97 does not have abs ,the 99does. Thanks

You would need a shaft from a 93+ ranger with an 8.8 (not from an fx4). And you would need it to be from the same side as your broken one (they are different lengths)

Yes the drums should fit just fine.

Not to highjack but, I am also looking for a right side axle for a 01' B3000 with an 8.8 28 splind. will the 93+ axle work for me?

As long as you don't grab a shaft from an FX4, your good

and it shouldn't need to be from an 8.8 either as both the 8.8 and 7.5 have the same shafts...
