Hey all. I'm hoping this is a simple one. But I just finnished doing a single in tank fuel pump swap on my 87 2.9 ranger to get rid of the rail pump. I dropped in a pump from a 90 2.9 ranger. Got the fuel lines all worked out. After driving I noticed a fuel leak, I traced it up the the fuel pressure regulator hose. It popped of the barbed fitting on the fpr. So I put it back on and tightened the up more. After a few minutes of idling, it burst the rubber hose in between the plastic line and fpr. Would that point to a blocked return line, or would it be more like the new pump it putting out way too much fuel. Thank you for any help on this.

Test the pressure if you can. A return type system shouldn't exceed 50 PSI or so ever. A blockage is likely.

Awesome, I'll do that. After seeing the rust and crap that came out of the fuel accumulator, a blockage would make sense
