I installed my motor and got my motor plates straight, after making 2 sets. I decided to install my tri y's to make sure they cleared my frame and steering, they clear everything. BUT, i have the flex sheild on the motor, the spacer between the trans and motor. Before i could tighten the back bolt up it was hitting the flex plate where the starter goes. It has no room at all. So i know the trans will hit it for sure. I was thinking of installing all the bolts on the headers and using my porta power to bend the header outwards until i have enough to clear the trans. Anyone ever had this problem before? I know i'll have to go slow and let it bend gradually, just have to watch so the face by the head doesn't bend.

Are you the using the small bell housing with the flex plate because if so you shouldnt have any clearance isssues@all. The small bellhousing with a 157 tooth flywheel you shouldnt have any clearance issues. With my Tri Y headers i put them on the motor along with the tranny and lowered the motor down on my mounts.

The 164t bellhousing will require a fair amount of header tweaking for Shelby style try-y's to fit.

Yeah i found out its a 164 tooth flywheel. My trans has a 157 tooth flywheel bell housing. So i'll be swapping flywheels around.
