I have a C4 from a 74 Montego and a B&M hammer shifter. I got the C4 cable kit and am in the process of adjusting the linkage. Rookie status... Any advice? I'm not even sure where is park on the transmission? Thanks in advance. A-

If I remember correctly they want the cable adjusted while the transmission is in neutral. All the way to the front should be park, a sure test is to jack up the rear and see if the tires spin. When I did those shifters I had a helper run the shifter through each gear while I removed and installed the cable in each position to make sure it was not trying push into a different gear from what was selected.
