i own a 1994 ranger, 4x4 4.0L, 125 in wheelbase. all i want to know is what size are the retaining bolts on the front coil springs

They're studs, and above is correct for the retainer nut.

1 1/8 on both the retainer nut as well as the stud hex head.
The bottom half of the stud is a 3/4"x16 thread.
The top half is a 5/8"x18 thread.
