86 Bronco II 2.9

Got my new fuel pressure tester and went out to figure out why the hell this thing is so friggin rich.

Put the tester on, primed the pump, popped up to 40-42 then dropped back to around 8 within like 30 seconds.

So i figured injector.

So i pulled each plug, one at a time, priming the pump after each plug. All were bone dry. Black...but dry.

So after muttering a few "WTF's" i did an engine running test.

The needle was bouncing between like 60-80psi very rapidly (guessing it would drop when injectors opened).

Bad FPR? Theres no fuel in the vacuum hose...and when i did the engine off test i did pinch the return line but the needle still dropped as rapidly as with it unpinched.

Presure is way too high. 40 is good key on engine off. Should be 32 to 36 running. The FPR does the regulating so it sounds like you are on the right path.

Presure is way too high. 40 is good key on engine off. Should be 32 to 36 running. The FPR does the regulating so it sounds like you are on the right path.
Thats what i was figuring. I knew 60-80 was to much but wanted to cover any other bases
