I have been tossing the idea around of doing a body lift, problem is i dont have the resources to do it. My buddies say they know how to do it, but to be honest i dont really trust them. I dont want to do a suspension lift because that is just to darn expensive.
One of my buddies suggested doing a spacer on the back axle between the axle and springs, and then cranking the torsion bars up on the front, is this a possible route???????
I dont know much about lifting trucks, so i was wondering what you guys (and girls) think about what i should do, i dont wanna spend a ton of money, or time doing this, i just want the truck to sit a little higher for the dunes this summer, i plan on getting bigger tires for it also. What would be the easiest/cheapest/best thing to do here. This truck is also a daily driver, so i dont want it to exotic.

The truck is a 1999 Ranger 4X4 ext cab with the 4.0L

Thanks

Cranking the torsion bars and a small block in the back would be your best bet for some cheap lift.

It should already have a block in the back, right? Creating a rake to the truck? I'd say just crank the torsion bars. This should get you about 1 1/2-2". If that still doesn't do it for you, put a small 1" body lift or a bigger 3" body lift. Remember, Never stack blocks. Good luck.

Hay my buddy just installed a 3in body, a 2 or 3in rear spring shackle an cranked up his torshin bars, on his 99 ranger ex cab. Hes running 33 12.50 tires an his truck looks sick. he had all this done for not that much cost at the local speed shop in our area (Alterd Image Customs). His truck drives smooth down the road an is VERY good off road.
