frequent reader, this is my first time post though. i own a 1994 ranger 4x4 xlt, with the 4.0 liter OHV motor. im getting a misfire in the #4 cylinder, and yet im not throwing a check engine light or getting any codes. i've replaced coil pack, wires, and plugs and it's still misfiring, obviously not electrical so it must be mechanical. what could be causing this misfire?

Kinda late here but check for a head gasket. I had the same issue. Only I had a misfire in Cyl 3 & 6 turned out that a head gasket was bad and it was dumping coolant into both of the cylinders. Overheated once and noticed the coolant being empty. Long story short $1400 later with 2 new heads (both cracked when it overheated), gaskets, bolts, fluids its back to normal.
