I want to put dual t-cases in my 99 ranger 4.0 with a 5r553 trany and 1354w case. do they even make the adaptor for this? from what I've heard I need a 1350 with a 1354 manual instead of electric. Am I right. I'm kinda lost but REALY want to do this.

You can use an electric case in the rear, but the front must be a 1350 manual.

D.D. Machine makes a kit for 500 bucks. Best way to get a hold of him is on ebay. I just found a jeep Doubler he has on there and sent him a message asking about a 1350 Doubler. He responded the next day.

Or buy some 1/2" plate and make it yourself. He will sell just the adapter stub shaft for 250.

'83-'89 trucks will all have 1350 cases (also early-1990s). I believe the electric-shift stuff started as an option in '86 (manuals still being standard), but not 100% on that.

FWIW, you CAN as a last resort use an electric-shift case for the doubler box in the event you cannot find a manual-shift case, however you would need to get creative on ways to shift it (in one of the writeups in the Tech Library, a guy used a S-10 axle actuator solenoid though I think he reportedly had some leakage issues, some kind of push/pull cable shifter might be possible also).

Is there such thing as a 1354 manual case? Can I use two 1350 manual cases? I have no problem with using two manual cases since I'm probably going to have to buy two anyways.

If I can find a 1350 in 83-89, what about a manual 1354 (if there is such a thing)?

I would grab a 1350 case and cut it up to use for the front case, as the area you will have to block off is much smaller on the 1350 than the 1354 due to the case design. Also, I dont know if Duffy makes the adapter "filler-plates" that will fit the 1354 case.
1354 manual and electric cases can be found in some 89+ Ranger, BroncoII, Explorer
The 6 gear planetary 1354 tcases can be found in 92-97 Rangers and 92-? Explorers.

the 6 gear is a sligthly different design of shift fork and internal gear set, IMO better than the 4 gear planetary (of the older 1354 and 1350 cases)but either will work just fine.

You can run an electric rear case or two manual cases but the front case must be manual. There are many different shifter configurations you can do depending on which way you go.

this might be a dumb question but can I use two 1350 cases instead of one of each?
