Hey guys...you probably didn't notice I was gone but...I am back Haha. I haven't been on Ranger Station for probably about a year because I blew the tranny in my Ranger and now my truck is just an expensive lawn ornament. But I have found a lead on a tranny/transfer case/torque converter.

130,000kms
200 bucks
Came off of a 99 4.0L Explorer that was a write off, guy bought it because he needed the engine

Sound good?

I was under the impression that all 4.0L trannies bolt up for all 4.0 engines because the OHV and the SOHC has the same bolt pattern? Correct me if I am wrong please. He doesn't know the transmission code but if it came off a 4.0l then the only options are 4R55E and 5R55E correct? Both of which I can make work?

Anyways this should maybe be in the tranny section but I figured I would say hey and such, if you wanna look at my truck and what I have done (shameless promo alert...) this is the most recent activity http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107125

Yeah I think a long time ago I did some searching and found that a 5r55e and 4r55e are identical mechanically, just some electrical stuff is different, and that a 4r55e to 5r55e swap is pretty simple. Which is what I like to hear! Haha
