SO now what do I do???? Anyone ran into this one yet? I've got to have this thing inspected before I can run it through the emissions test again... I would imagine a waiver and disconnect the vaccum lines to the EGR........ Maybe another year solenoid that would work?

Try the local junkyard...a used one usually works but you may want to grab two if possible just in case...

When I tried to get an EGR pipe a few years ago (Sept 01/01 to be exact) they couldn't find the part in stock...so I went to the scrap yard and fabbed one from spare parts...

that's lame. you are required to pass smog, yet no one make replacement parts for smog systems. makes sense.

napa told me the same thing on my 86. i called o'reily auto parts. they had it in stock. give them a call.

86 looks like the 88

Thanks guys I looked on Schucks and O'reilly's N/A on both of them for 88s looked at the part for a 86 it looks exactly the same! Funny NAPA has one for the 87 listed also funny the guy at the shop didn't even try to see if they were availaible for the earlier years guess he didn't want me to blame him if it didn't work out. Maybe I'll give it a try thanks.

It should it would be on the passenger side right beside the air filter box it looks like two relays with two wiring connectors and a couple of vaccum ports mounted on a long rubber base.

is it the solenoid that looks like this?
