Hey guys. I’ve searched the forums but can’t seem to find what I’m looking for. So recently I pulled the entire 4x4 wiring harness and module, switch and motor out of a donor rig to put in my mud truck because I have a electric shift without a motor and I’m tired of laying on my back to shift it.
So with that being said, does anyone know if a explorer and bronco II module is the same as the ranger?
I had everything hooked up to a jump pack to make sure it all works before I install it in my truck, I can get 4hi and 2wd but cannot get 4lo, I ran all the diagnostic in the tech library and everything seems decent. Until I tested for continuity between the motor powers and module (orange and yellow wires) I check them and in the 8 pin pigtail on the module (with it being plugged in)I get resistance between both wires and ground ! I know I shouldn’t get getting it like so I’m assuming the module is junk. Bc it won’t do anything anymore but the switch lights up. And according to the motor circuit test the motor is stuck in a in between position. I’m going to take the motor apart and service it.
I ran the self diag test where you unplug the 2 flat connectors and push the button on the side of the module and if it blinks it’s good, and it does blink.
any help would be appreciated
ohh btw my truck is a factory 2wd 94 converted to 4x4 5 speed. 4x4 stuff came out of 94 auto
I would upload a video of it working but can’t seem to add videos
