After acouple days of not running my truck and a few cold nights I decided to go for a drive. I turn my truck on and immediately hear this god awefull racket coming from my engine. I turn my key off to stop the noise, but my truck keeps on running. I quickly pop the hood and try to find a solution. I notice the noise is coming from the engine. It sounds as if the engine is vibrating itself apart, so i go back to the cab and try turning the key from off to on and back off again. About the forth time of turning it to the off position it stops running finally.
A few minutes later I try to start it again. This time i turn the key to they on position and let it sit a few seconds and try to start it. It starts up with no issues and drives fine. The same thing happens to me once more that day and it hasn't happened since.
I have a feeling I need a new starter but thought I would get a second opinion.
