When I bought my 2005 F250 I had all intension of getting an F150 with the 5.4. As soon as I saw how cheap and cheezy the interior of the F150 looked I thought better of it. The F250 has much nicer instrumentation etc.. So I got an F250 with 3,000 mile on it for what I would have spent on the F150. My 2004 fx4 Levell II has a quality interior too. Reminds me of the F250. That being said. My 1988 Bronco II though dated has higher quality seats, steering wheel and overall interior craftsmanship than todays vehicles on the whole.

hahahh! Matter of fact I had a 2002 Dodge 1500 4x4. The interior wasn't bad. I liked the white gauges. Just had to get back to being a Ford owner. I didn't think much of the 4.7 though.

Would you prefer expensive plastic?

Interiors are plastic for safety, you wouldn't want to get thrown against a 56 Chevy dash would you or have a pot metal radio knob stuck in your forehead ?:haha:

Well come to think of it... My dad had a 57 Chevy. This was like early 60's. A faraway time before seat belts. My little brother hit the dash driving his teeth BACK UP INTO HIS GUMS!!!

I love my Rangers and all but an F150 has a way better interior and over all build quality over a Ranger, you must have been sitting in a Chevy or something lol.

Now the 99-04 Mustangs on the other hand, I think most model cars have a better interior, thank god Ford came out with the '05 + body style.

Everything is plastic today for all the aforementioned reasons. Even the Lexus' I work on at the stealership are all plastic. It's cost effective and safer.

My Ranger has held up just fine to the 10 years of abuse I've thrown at it. Easy to clean too. It's a truck anyway; if you want a nice interior get a luxury vehicle.

Yea my Dad has an '03 Cobra, I mean the interior has nice stuff like the suede seats, leather shifter, the Mach stereo, Fancy Gauges etc, but the fit and finish is crap, pretty much like the rest of the car, the drivetrain is bad ass tho. My mom has a '06 GT with the premium interior, its got the leather, the dash upgrade with the panels that look like aluminum even to its just a decal... but its missing a few things for a $35,000 car like a outside temp thermometer, compass, small things like that that bring the car together but the fit and finish is great.

I'm biased, I love the new Mazda RX8s. The one I played with at the dealership was damn nice on the interior. Pretty, firm, curvacious, symmetrical. Who cares if it's plastic?!

I should stop now.

It seems to me that there are different "grades" of plastic. I was looking to buy a new Lincoln MKZ awhile ago, but was turned off by the cheap feeling interior. I have seen some interiors that are plastic and feel like a million bucks.
