I heated the garage last winter with kerosene and it was pretty expensive...$300, but that was mostly due to not having finished the ceiling with drywall...now there is a natural gas heater in there and the ceiling is finished...
I've noticed a significant increase in the price of oil over the years, but, like you say, it doesn't fluxuate like gasoline...I didn't keep downgrading my oil brand when I was doing oil changes once a month...but recently switched to a high mileage oil to help keep the engine running smooth...
Oh, and gas dipped below a buck again this week...Yippeee!
