Dropping by from Minnesota. Recently picked up a 01 Ranger to haul product and equipment for our power equipment business. Found you guys when I was browsing with the mentality of "if I had cash to blow... what could I do to this thing?"... I hit up the tech library right away for engine mods.

But anyways, it can't hurt to be a member of a forum where the main focus is pretty much ONE vehicle. I can only assume the support here is relatively strong and positive.

My first project is to replace the dated shocks on it, they are definitely shot. Unfortunately brakes are next... the dealership SAID they did the brakes on it, I found out elsewise after pulling the front tires off and noticing that the pads have very little life left. That's the last time I buy something from a "religious" dealership... I always thought lying was a sin... :icon_confused:

Welcome bro!

Yeah. We're a pretty fun-loving group around here. Light on ego, but heavy on knowledge.

Now that you're here, pull up a chair, grab a cold drink & watch for low-flying BS!

Some of you guys and your mods are just nuts (shoehorn a BBF in a ranger... wow!). I bought it because I needed something to tow with and can't even imagine doing the things that some of you guys do. I'll never understand the "street" trucks that drag their ass when they drive, but to each their own.

Still on the to-do list:
Install the Bilsteins when they get in
Install class 3 hitch
Replace the brakes
Install new head unit, something with HD (eying a Kenwood unit)
Upgrade the stock speakers and replace with Infinity speakers.
Install Truxedo ROLL UP cover
Rhino Line it!

I'm not big on mods. Audio, however, is almost a must, I haven't heard a factory ford system that I liked ;)

I'm pretty anal about the truck. My last car, (was an 06), if any panel had a scratch, it got sanded down and repainted. To me, the truck is dirty as seen in the pic. I'd wash it, but it's been raining at least 60% of the time. All I wanna do is get out there, wash it and wax the darn thing.

I love jy truck just as much as you, but I'm not anal about it. It's a truck. It gets scratches, scuffs, and dings.

I do like good audio systems, but I'm happy with the Sony Xplode CD player the prievious owner installed in mine.

Mechanically, the oil ALWAYS gets changed at or around 3,000 miles. Everything else gets done as needed.

Sounds like you've got a good list of mods that are tasteful AND add to the fuctionality of your truck. BTW, a black vynal cover would look good on that truck.

Just threw away the ford factory cover. New one is to be purchased this year.
