Ran a check? Nobody offers stats on coyotes around here. They are nuisance animals that can't be checked and they are everywhere over here.

Brian I'll come over and sit with ya. I like to hunt coydogs. I'll bring the calls. If one is killed the others will be back to eat it.
i will get ahold of you when work slows down. if i remember right there is no season or limit on them.

In Indiana you can shoot them any time and you don't have to report them. Raccoons you can also shoot any time, but you have to report those to DNR within 72 hours. The only rule with the coyotes is you can't possess them live for over 24 hours if you trap them. Illinois might be similar, or it could be the state mascot for all I know. There is probably something on dealing with nuisance animals on your state website.

In Iowa there the season is continuous, but you do have to have a hunting license though. Most guys that hunt them to hunt them wait until winter is good and set in to thin out the sick ones.

No real season on coyotes around here. Just can't hunt them during any deer season wether it be shot gun or bow. They usually go into heat around the last week of January through February.

May I recommend a Remington 770 30.06. On sale at Dick's Sporting Goods for $310.29 out the door.

i also use a 12 ga but a full choke with a 3in slug is not a good idea will mess up your full choke and when using shot you wont have as tight of a pattern
