So the other day me and a friend were on our way back from the fair. On our way back we turned onto a closed road thats the local "drag strip" and decided to go for it. I had him from the start. I felt pretty good that night.

His truck:
2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
Vortec 4200 4.2L I6
275 hp
275 ft·lb
3.42 rear axle
4600 lbs curb weight

My truck:
2006 Ford Ranger FX4
4.0L SOHC
212 hp
245 lb·ft
4.10 rear axle
3705 lbs curb weight

It's all in the gears on that race.

I'm glad you only seen him in your rearview, though.

My credo
"220, 221, whatever it takes."
Street racing, even on a closed road, is dangerous and you should ashamed of yourself.

BTW, congratulations! :D

Anywhere else and it would just be "racing". Good thing that Tailblazer had the nice highway gear ratio. Plus 900 pounds of extra heft.

When did Ford bump the the 4.0 SOHC engine to 212 hp and 245 ft-lb in the Ranger? I thought they were still at 207 hp and 238 ft-lb. Or are these numbers from some performance mods?

Slight tweaks, nothing major yet, just exhaust and stand alone tuner.
