Just thought I would share what I found.
I have an '04 Edge, I started having a fuel problem a couple of months ago, I checked a few things and replaced the filter, ran fine for a while but then it happened again. I figured it was the pump. I could not here it come on, checked the fuses . Well I just replaced the pump and no go, I wasnt getting the power down there. Started checking everything and then the damn thing starts working on its own. WTF ?
So I start back tracing and started looking at the fuel switch, it was getting pretty hot with the vehicle running, so I pull it out and whalla !
The plug has been getting hot and was melting. Guess it was going bad or something, dont know but I just bypassed it.
So if anybody is having intermittent fuel problems I bet its that plug that goes into the fuel cut out switch. It will work at times and even check for continuity but after it gets hot it might lose continuity.
Anyway bought a fuel pump for nothing.
But I got it fixed. Guess its cheaper than going to a shop huh ?
