What's up guys. So after about about three months of procrastination, I finally got around to installing my new extended radius arms after one of the tuff country ones snapped this summer. The install went pretty smoothly, and I just took it for a test drive tonight. Couple of things I noticed: first, there seems to be an intermittent shimmy. Second, it seems to ride a bit rougher than I remember. I know I read that a lot of people experience this when using the JD lift since it uses heims. The tuff country kit uses the rebuildable bushings, so maybe it's just the ride on the heims. Third, I noticed some rubbing at full lock. maneuvering in parking lots seems to make it happen. Is that the way the JD arms are designed or could it be the wheel backspacing or something? I also noticed a separate light scraping feeling when turning sometimes, but that's intermittent also. I think it might just be what the heims do when the ball moves in the socket. Anyway, I guess I'm just kind of paranoid I didn't do something right. But I torqued everything down pretty hard and double and triple checked everything. Oh, and just for kicks, here's a pic of her last winter in the UP. This is one of my favorites.
