Question: I have a wrecked 1995 Ford Ranger with a solid frame and drivetrain.
I haven't been able to sell it as a parts truck and while I've moved most things of value over to my other 1995 Ranger, I'm wondering if there would be merit in putting a different body on it?
It's a 1995 2WD long bed, 3.0 automatic. I still have all the electronics out of it; the engine compartment is hosed but the frame and drivetrain is intact. The cab is stripped. I drove it for 2 years before my wife wrecked it and I bought another long bed 1995 (4.0 auto, incompatible drive train) to replace it.
I know somebody transplanted a 1930's body on to a 1989 body, but as cool as that is I don't have the tooling or money to go there right now. Not that I could afford much right now, but I'm trying to see if there is any good reason to keep it since the drivetrain isn't of use as spare parts.
I might/ hopefully will be moving to a house, so I can maybe get it out of my parent's driveway and do something with it since I don't have the heart to scrap it nor can I seem to find any serious buyers for it as a parts truck.
Thoughts? (Or if you're in the louisville area and need a 1995 3.0 parts truck, it's still available... TRS members might get it for criminally cheap if it's going to a good home).
