i recently purchased a product for some stage lighting... it's a class IIIB laser product as indicated on the sticker...

not sure if i'll be able to find the wavelengths of the colors but they have like a lime green (bright green, not like forest green) and a red color (the popular red laser color)

i've looked around on the internet and a few sites have said it's okay if i bounce it off of something... just looking for some clarification by people who know

General rule for theatrical lasers....aim them above people's head. That way there's no chance for it to be in people's eyes.

Check out Wicked Laser's webpage for more info http://www.wickedlasers.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=50&nav=0,3. A quote from there...Class IIIb lasers produce sufficient amount of energy to cause personal injury and start fires. Certified laser safety eyewear required when using these products.
well i've seen that they are only dangerous if their total output is at a certain number... not sure if the above description meets or exceeds that number for dangerous

Hate to tell you...any laser is dangerous. It may take a little longer to do damage, but it will do damage regardless of power output. Remember too, that there are people who are more susceptible to having their eyes damaged by laser light.

If your laser has been classified as a IIIb, then it falls into this category. Aim the light above the crowd. You may be able to get away with aiming it directly down (like hanging it above the crowd's head and pointing it straight down). Check with some local people to you who have experience with theatrical lasers and see what they say.
