leaky transmission

I've got a leak coming from my transmission it looks like its either a bad seal between the tranny and tranfer or i see some oil at the top where the shifter is at. im prolly gonna drop the tranny just to get a better look have any of you guys had problems like this

Pretty common for the 3 shift rail plugs to leak at the rear of the shifter cover. I'd look there first.
