Hey guys! Since this is where you go to introduce yourself, i'll begin.
I'm a Texas native currently living in San Diego, California.
I enlisted in 2007 and have been living the life of a Sailor since then.
Uncle Sam kicked me some incentive money in 2014, so I shopped around for a little 5speed 4x4 I could call me own, with little success. Every time I believed the chosen one had been found, it either turned out to be a phantom, junker, or someone beat me to it. Finally I broadened my horizons and started looking at 2x4 pickups as well, thats when I stumbled across my little '02 with 35k miles. I snatched it up for 7k and have been trolling around various ranger forums for a little over a year now (the thermostat was broken at purchase, a fact not realized until the weather chilled)

I aim to try my hand at building a 2wd Prerunner once I return from deployment and fix the two (I hope) remaining issues i have.

Anyway, it's nice to finally sign up and get in here. Cheers! :icon_welder:

Welcome to TRS ~!

And thank you for your service to your country...and mine...

you didn't mention the motor but that's OK...I'm not really familiar with the newer 2.3 4 banger that some trucks have (with an impressive 134 hp) but someone on here could probably assist if needed...if you have one of the V6 engines then they could help you too or another group on here could...

So...what I just said...you should be able to get assistance with your truck if you need it...

Enjoy and take care on your deployment...prayers for your safe return!

Sorry about that!! It's the adorable little 2.3L that drives me insane everytime i have to drive up a hill. Maybe my expectations are too high, maybe something is robbing my HP...we shall see. I've read that a messed up fan clutch (which i have) will kill off a few horses, but i wouldn't think it would be that noticable.

The groovy thing about my fan clutch (and why i haven't fixed it yet) is whomever owned this truck before me installed an aftermarket A/C and radiator, therefore rendering the default "fan clutch removal tool" halfway useless. Finding the right one has been so frustrating that i'm a motivated evening from fabricating my own out of an old bed frame. :icon_confused:
