Hi all. The fulcrum on my gas pedal is worn out and really loose. I can't seem to find any repair parts for it and I am thinking about replacing the whole pedal assembly with an aftermarket piece. I was looking at an all-star performance firewall mount pedal, part# ALL54107 at Summit. I was wondering what you all thought about this. Has anyone used an aftermarket pedal in their truck that they would recommend, or is there a reasonably convenient fix for the stock one? I figured I would use the firewall mount pedal since that is what the stock setup is. The other thing is, I never liked the stock pedal much in the first place. I appreciate any advice you all have. Truck is an 88 short cab with a 350 Holley if that matters.

Never had the pedal wear out personally.... but I have had the bracket fall off once, that was fun! Its only spot welded on there. If yours is in fact worn out, id just get one from a junkyard.

My credo
If you're not making mistakes, you're not learning.

I had the spot weld break off on mine too. Rather darned annoying evening.

Yeah, I had to pull the cable by hand to get home.... not fun with a standard transmission!

Well, at least I haven't had that happen yet. I think I'm going to go ahead with the aftermarket pedal though. I'll give an update on how it works out when I'm done, in case anyone is curious.
