Thankfully I'm not going for a huge drop, seems like folks have had success by changing/adjusting their Torsion keys, but it's sort of everything else around it that I'm unsure of, things like strut length, supporting mods to make sure I'm roasting ball joints e.t.c.
When it comes to dropping, I know enough to give bad information and potentially cause more problems than help. So, I'm deferring to those who have done the work.

That's a wise man.

I've never lowered one either...

That said... on the front... the late model torsion keys are re-indexed to give a lower ride height. Even with that change... the physical up and down stops for suspension travel did not change. So that's says the stock length shock will still work.

Good to know, I was hoping I wouldn't have to go looking for weird specific length shocks.

I've read that a lot of folks have had to cut their bump stops after flipping their keys, I'll report back with my findings when its done.

There is that. Rangers after 2007 sit lower than the ones before. The keys are different and the rear axle blocks are about half as thick on the 4X4 models.

I learned that recently and included in my quoted post, seems like maybe the easiest way to get a small drop in easily at the front.

I'm not sure changing sides would do anything. I put lift keys in my truck last year and I don't remember them being marked left and right. I kinda think they're symmetrical.

I'll go out to the garage and have a look later... if I can remember where I put them.

I don't remember them being marked for a specific side either.

Yours is torsion bar? Most of the '98 and newer 4x2's were coil spring up front, mostly the Ranger Edge's got the torsion bar setup with some other random parts

"Flipping" your keys I believe means quite literally taking them out, and installing them flipped upside down, otherwise they're just symmetrical hunks of shaped metal.

Yeah, I have a Dual Sport, which is the Mazda B-Series equivalent of an Edge model.

You can't flip them over... there are dimples for the adjusting screw.

drives a stick shift ranger
from what i have read, flipping them over because the curve gives more drop on that side.

And i agree that stock shocks probably will work fine. Shocks have a decent amount of compression/extension so i bet they not only work but are usually used on more then one vehicles

But maybe...

I've never tried.
