so I've got my 302 swap basically done, and i used the m5od-r2 with a 205 t-case. My problem is i still cannot get my clutch to disengage. I've tried several different master cylinders from parted rangers, and even a new one for an 87 ranger, bled it many times using every method i can think of. Has anyone done a r2 swap and have a hint on what to look for?

As a side note i have access to a np435-205 setup and was wondering if this would be a better way to go. if i did would i use a f150 bell with the external slave? i haven't seen any info on what bell to use with this transmission.

I had the same problem your having when I tried using the R2. I couldn't get enough stroke on the throwout bearing to disengage the clutch know matter how much I bled it. I know there is a few guys on here that have had some success but I ended going with a C4 because of it.

well glad to hear that someone else had the same problem i guess. think i may throw the c6 i have in for now and just go with it until i can get the parts around for the np435-205 setup. not really wanting to run an auto, but getting tired of the hydro clutch problems.

Why don't you just get a master cylinder from a F-150 or bronco and put it in your rig?

a f150 master comes straight out from the firewall and would hit the brake booster. if you were to mount it in stock ranger location it couldn't hold hardly any fluid because the fluid reservoir is molded right into the body of the master cyl. i have thought about making a sealed lid for one though and putting a barb on top so you can still use a ranger reservoir tank, just doesnt seem worth it.
