guy around here has a 2000 ranger with a bad engine needs to replace it. Its a V6, hes pretty sure its a 3.0. backed with an auto trans didnt get if it was 4x4 or not though.

What years are plug and play that he could pull an engine from?

Welcome to The Ranger Station!!!

6 Cylinder section

I suspect only 1998-2003 engines will be 'plug and play' in regards to sensors and wiring.

Just as a heads up for something to research, I know that the Explorer V-8's changed from a 3 wire CPS in 1996-1998 to a 2 wire in 1999-2001... Dunno if the 3.0's made this change as well, but may be worth a look. Otherwise as of 98-03 I can't think of anything that changed... 04 there are a few wiring changes I'm about 95% sure.
