Hi!
Like the title says I'm an old guy from Michigan, that needs some resource information on a 1997 Ranger 4.0 4wd I just bought.
This is the second Ranger I've had, the first one was an 84 SWB 2WD with a 5.0 4 speed conversion that I did. The conversion was easy with the help of this site. Ran fantastic! but I wound up scrapping the body though due to scary rust issues and I never found a decent replacement body to my liking, in a timely manner so I sold the swap setup too.
I found out why it was so quick when I scrapped it. With a junk medium weight engine in the bed and some other scrap metal it weighed 2500 lbs! That was one bare bones vehicle, like they used to make a lot of, not even power steering or brakes. (I wanted one just like it, a stripper, but of course in better shape body wise. VERY hard to find.)
Anyway, my first question will be posted in the appropriate place..
