Maybe this can be made a sticky thread. Most of the questions n this section seems to be about seats. If you have put other then factory seats in your ranger post a picture of the seats and information about the swap so others can find it. Please answer the following questions when you post:

1. What year ranger and cab configuration?

2. What were the original seats your ranger came with?

3. What did your swap seats come out of?

4. Were you able to use your original seat slider tracks?

5. Were modifications if any were needed to bolt the seats into your ranger?

6. Any other special information you may find relevant to the swap others should know.

7. Post a picture of the new seats installed in your truck.

1. What year ranger and cab configuration?
1993 Ranger Standard Cab

2. What were the original seats your ranger came with?
60/40 bench

3. What did your swap seats come out of?
95-01 ford explorer

4. Were you able to use your original seat slider tracks?
Yes

5. Were modifications if any were needed to bolt the seats into your ranger?
Two holes in the bottom of each seat needed a tap ran thru them. This allowed the factory ranger tracks to bolt to the bottom of the seat. I also trimmed the plastic cover piece on the side of the seats to cover only the recline mechanism. The ranger tracks do not have a front mount for the plastic to clip to so it would have fallen off anyway if not cut back.

6. Any other special information you may find relevant to the swap others should know.
No

7. Post a picture of the new seats installed in your truck.

1. What year ranger and cab configuration?

1995, Regular cab

2. What were the original seats your ranger came with?

40/60 with armrest

3. What did your swap seats come out of?

2000, Regular cab, 40/60 with armrest

4. Were you able to use your original seat slider tracks?

I didn't... and the slider tracks AFAIK are integrated to the tilt assembly, which is different. So NO.

5. Were modifications if any were needed to bolt the seats into your ranger?

The newer seats have a very, very similar floor bolt pattern. However, I did need to swap to fresh bolts with fender washers and file out a couple of the mount holes (otherwise the tracks would bind).

Also, I removed the seat belt receptacles mounted to the seat sides since my factory receptacles are floor mounted. I also cut off the (broken) plastic sleeve from the driver's side receptacle belt as the twist at the base didn't agree with the hole in the driver's seat. I zip tied the driver's buckle to the arm rest support to keep it from falling in the hole.

6. Any other special information you may find relevant to the swap others should know.

The seats ride about 1-2" higher and the seat backs have a greater range of latching (tilt) positions, especially in the forward direction. They ride well too.

I also zip tied the two passenger seat belt receptacles together, again to prevent the center one from falling. The one downside to these seats is that they do not tolerate falling seat belt receptacles well

Here are some from another thread:

1. What year ranger and cab configuration?

Truck 1: 2003 Ranger Edge single cab

Truck 2: 2002 Ranger XLT 2 door ext. cab

2. What were the original seats your ranger came with?

Both: 60/40s

3. What did your swap seats come out of?

Truck 1: a 2006 XL reg cab Ranger

Truck 2: a 2000 XLT 2 door Ranger

4. Were you able to use your original seat slider tracks?

Both trucks: No

5. Were modifications if any were needed to bolt the seats into your ranger?

truck 1: belt buckles would not work with the belts. To swap pretensioners I needed a new type of nut to go on to the threaded pole that held the 06 ones on as the old but was specially made.

Truck 2: belts again, the buckles actually worked with the belts but the passanger side did not have a plug for the airbag so the airbag was disabled until we pluged in the belt from the 02

6. Any other special information you may find relevant to the swap others should know.

Truck 1: 04+ seats are a pan with foam pretty much and are less comfortable than the old seats to some. Also, the back is thicker and in a reg cab you can not slide as far back. I keep them only because of the memories I had with them in my first truck but if I was looking for new seats would probably go with mustangs.

Truck 2: with all the springs in the older than 04 seats, a few weeks after the swap some gave out and made the seat uncomfortable. Beware as they are well over 10 years old.

7. Post a picture of the new seats installed in your truck.

1994 Mazda B2300 Extended Cab

2. What were the original seats your ranger came with?

60/40 Bench

3. What did your swap seats come out of?

I don't recall exactly. 1994-1999 Ford Explorer.

4. Were you able to use your original seat slider tracks?

Used the power tracks that were attached to the seats

5. Were modifications if any were needed to bolt the seats into your ranger?

No

6. Any other special information you may find relevant to the swap others should know.

Had to run power wire from junction box in engine bay to new seats. Did it that way to it looks factory. Love the bolster.

They are a bit dirty and as you can see the drivers side has a rip in it. Still haven't had time to get that repaired but I will soon. They have been in there for about 10 years now.

That's funny, as I've noticed some different differences (based on my experiences with the swap and what I've seen at the junk yard). In terms of 60/40 seats:

1995: wired base, panned back. Armrest mounted to side of driver's seat back. Has a sheet metal lever for slide adjustment. Tilt lever mounted directly to hinge.

2000: panned base (just as comfy IMHO), wired back (the driver's side was busted, see below). Armrest mounted on two supports independent of the driver's seat back. Has a round bar lever for slide adjustment and the tilt lever is in the side of the base.

2002: same as 2000, only the back's "U" wire was thicker (which swapped in to the 2000 seat fine). Also had the center seat belt mounted to the seat with an added pre-tensioner (and as a result a different "floor" wiring connector).

I also saw the bottom of some 1996 Explorer seats which had the mount system of the 1995 (small bolt holes) and a mostly wired base (like the 1995) but the slide/tilt controls of the 2000/2003 seats. That said, they were a pair of buckets, not 60/40 IIRC.
