Painting the fenders

My passenger side fender is noticeably lighter than the other three for some reason. Anyway, in order to spray it black, and probably the others as well, what would be the best way of doing this?

do any repair you need to do, sand it with 400 grit, wash it, and paint it!

I am talking like the plastic black piece. It is like a gritty surface so I don't know what to do about sanding it.

Are you talking about the fender flares? If so, some Stoner's Trim Shine will fix you right up.

scuff it with a gray scuff pad (scotch brite) hit it with wax and grease remover. then hit it with some duplicolor trim paint. or sem trim black.

In that case he should try what was recommended in post #5 before he starts sanding/painting things.:)

x2 on post #5 for fender flares, but in the first post it was fender's
