Should a 90 2.9 2wd ranger have a single hose PCV valve or a double hose? I noticed that the PCV valve that was on the truck when i bought it had 2 hose connections on it but only one hose is hooked up to it. I bought a new one with a single hose connection but was wondering if thats correct or if it is supposed to have 2 hoses and the person i bought it from somehow managed to lose the other hose. If it is supposed to have 2, where should the second hose connect to?

the valve you removed had 2 hose connections because it was a cheap, generic aftermarket valve. you should only have one hose connection.

My credo
Failing is easy. Everyone can do it.
There's normally a small plug in the top hose port of the valve for the bit that is not used. Unless you opt for getting an exact OEM part? Just about every aftermarket PCV valve will be built with the two hose connections, with only one being used--the 2nd capped.

ok thanks. yeah i figured it was only supposed to have one because I didn't see anything missing a hose and i think i would notice something like that while driving so i went ahead and put one on that just had one hose connection
