the truck is an 87 ranger 4x4 reg cab long box 2 gas tanks just bought the truck it starts runs for 5 minutes then stalls and does not start again. not till you leave the truck for a while till it cools down. i need help soon this truck needs to get me to work monday. any help is good help thanks.

Off hand...sounds like the igntion module (aka TFI), on the back of the distributor. Most parts stores can check them, just make sure that they check it multiple times.

if that isn't it...then maybe the temp sensor for the engine computer.

i figured out its the fuel cut off switch.... i didnt even have to get my hands dirty hahah. well i was not expecting it to be that easy the previus owner was mind boggled it was such an easy fix.

my old ranger i had to replace those moduals all the time. everytime it would break down it was that. went threw about 3 in about 3 years
