Hey all,
Over the weekend, I believe someone broke one of my whip and springs off of the mount on my toolbox, any suggestions on how to prevent stupid shit like this from happening? Is there anything I can attach to the mount that covers the spring, mount, and bottom of the antenna so as-to prevent access to them all together? I steel tube of some sort? These whips are non-functional, just for looks, I have a different antenna for function, so it doesn't matter if it effects the antennas at all.

Thanks.

Remove them. Anything else will look silly and if they are just for looks that defeats the purpose.

Yeah they only sure way to prevent vandalisim is to not have anything to vandalize... if they want to break your antenna whips then they will find a way no matter what. I would say just get some beefier mounts so it makes a harder time for them to mess with them and they might just give up.

The mounts weren't the problem, it was the threaded end of the spring that wound up breaking... Here's what I'm thinking of using:

Since these are non-functioning antennas, it doesn't matter if they touch anything, i was going to take some tubing, and make a "sleeve" or "sock" of-sorts that would fit over the top of the stud, spring, and an inch or so of the whips. This would prevent them from being snapped off by bending.

Oh, and removing them is not an option.

You like them that much...? lol

Well I see no reason why that wouldn't work but it would defeat the purpose of the springs...

I've been tempted to do that to keep my stupid cats off the truck...
